Will AI Chatbots and Other Virtual Agents Favour Quality Over Quantity?

Recent statistics shared by Gartner suggests that by 2026, conventional search engine traffic will drop 25%. Alan Antin, Vice President Analyst at Gartner, commented “Organic and paid search are vital channels for tech marketers seeking to reach awareness and demand generation goals.”  “Generative AI (GenAI) solutions are becoming substitute answer engines, replacing user queries that previously may have been executed in traditional search engines. This will force companies to rethink their marketing channels strategy as GenAI becomes more embedded across all aspects of the enterprise.”

Caliber and Genuineness Will Be The Game Changers as Virtual Agents Replace Everyday Search

GenAI has led to lowering the cost of producing content, hence it has affected  activities like keyword strategy and website domain authority scoring. The  sheer amount of AI-generated content will be balanced out by search engine algorithms as it will favor the quality of content over anything else. Content resourcefulness and value is still the primary factor in outshining others and bringing organic search results.

Resources will look for ways to claim authority over their content like watermarking and copyrighting the content. AI-produced content will be put under surveillance by governments all over the globe. We can already see the introduction of laws and regulations around the content creation domain as the government agencies are keeping companies answerable and asking them to identify the marketing content assets. This practice will change the approach of the search engines about exhibiting all kinds of digital content.

Antin added “Companies will need to focus on producing unique content that is useful to customers and prospective customers. Content should continue to demonstrate search quality-rater elements such as expertise, experience, authoritativeness and trustworthiness.”
