We are talking about a student Jack Sweeney from University of Florida. This 21-year-old runsan Instagram page @taylorswiftjets, where he reports her flight activity using data from multiple sources which are available publicly.

Katie Wright Morrone, who is known to be Swift’s attorney has sent multiple letters to Jack Sweeney demanding that he puts a full stop tracking and publicly sharing Taylor’s flight information. To this Sweeney’s attorney made a dismissive reply which was shared on Monday. His attorney said that 22-year-old student Jack Sweeney and his company, GRNDCTRL, did nothing illegal.

Also, Sweeney captioned the post “Look What You Made Me Do,” referencing the title track off Swift’s 2017 “Reputation” album. He also shared the two letters sent to him by Swift’s team.Slater made his argumentwith a statement, ‘Sweeney’s speech is protected and did not violate any of Swift’s legal rights’. He went further to add that GRNDCTRL has also reported flight history Elon Musk in the past.

Taylor Swift’s attorneys argue that Jack Sweeney’s actions has put the singer at risk as providing up-to-date location can be used by potential stalkers. Slater went further with his statement and said, “Our clients have never made any threats against Ms. Swift and your letter does not suggest they have done so.”

It does beg the question, “How is the jet of Ms. Swift being tracked?

Well, to keep it simple, short and accurate, Jack Sweeney has indeed multiple social media accounts which tracks aircrafts of celebrities, billionaires and politicians and of-course the information simple doesn’t come from one particular source. It simply uses data from multiple sources which are publicly available. For example, registration information from the Federal Aviation Administration, and broadcast signals from the planes themselves. Those signals are what we know as Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast. It does shares real-time altitude, position along with other information that is important for air traffic.

Well the allure of technology does offer unprecedented insights into the lives of public figures but it’s essential to be careful and respect the boundaries of privacy and consent.

Anyways, lets be patience and wait for the authorities to decide who did what before we reach to any conclusion.
