This year a fast-spreading hoax news shows an email from Google saying that “the journey of Gmail is coming to a close.” Let’s put an end first to this news by stating that, Gmail isn’t going anywhere however this particular way of accessing Gmail is going to be pulled down. As of today, when you try to access the HTML version of Gmail, Google simply shows a message saying that the version is designed for “slower connections and legacy browsers” and asks you to confirm that you don’t want to use the standard version.
Talking about the HTML version of Gmail, It lacks a lot of features such as chat, spell checker, search filters, keyboard shortcuts, and many more. But it is useful in situations where you are in a low-connectivity area or want to just look at emails without any extra bells and whistles. It’s not clear if Google plans to add a mode for low connectivity.
Google is right now simply focusing on AI-powered packed features into their products, which includes Gmail last month. including Gmail. Last month, the company launched a Duet AI feature to help users write emails. Last week, it allowed the Bard chatbot to integrate with Google accounts so you can ask questions about email history.
Moreover, we would agree with that Gmail has envolved beyond just an email service. It integrates easily with other application of google workplace. It talks about including Google Drive, Calendar and meet. These integration will enhance the productivity state for both individuals and businesses which will solidify Gmail’s position as a corner stone of Google’s productivity suite.
