Why are Apple Vision Pro buyers returning their headsets?
A recent news surfaced regarding some buyers who are returning their Apple Vision Pros because they claim $3500 price is not justified by its mixed reality features.
As per the Customers, just weeks after it was released, they are returning their Apple Vision Pro headsets. Be it their headset design or blurry screen it is troubling for customer who are spending a hefty amount for this.
Apple vision pro hit the market on 2nd February 2024. Fans lined up at the event to test the mixed-reality headset at their local Apple Stores. Many who demoed the device said the device’s spatial computing capabilities blew them away but in just 2 weeks of time after it was introduced to the market, early adopters seem to be feeling the pains of buyer remorse. The impression of this gadget disappointed most buyers, who eventually spoke of returning their $3500 device. One of the youtubers Farzad Mesbahi said, “He cant see himself using the apple vision pro headset for long duration as its not comfortable”.
Though they criticized and plan to return the headset, Mesbahi, Michael, and Sutter they all expressed enthusiasm for Apple’s forward-looking vision and the headset’s cutting-edge capabilities. They will be open to try the goggles again probably in the future once the technology advances for better.
That is, if the Apple Vision Pro ever gets cheaper. They added..!!
Turns out that, Apple’s return policy is 14 days. If you buy online, that starts from the day you receive it. So, Friday is the last day to return your Apple Vision Pro which users have got only couple of days left to get their money back.
A quick social media scan brings up dozens of users who say they took the product back to the store. One of the twitter users wrote an entire paragraph of 775-wordsexplaining about why they’re abandoning Apple’s first vision pro headset.
Collin Michael, an Apple nerd, would agree with him. In a YouTube video he uploaded on why he’s returning his Vision Pro, he says the device’s weight is enough to be a burden. Using the headset to do things he would normally do on an iPhone or Mac — like pulling up Safari or searching for used cars, he further mentions that it requires extra steps that just aren’t worth the effort.
Matt Schneider said “Apple is right now out of its league, if they think people in masses would pay $4,000 for it,”, one of the Vision Pro customer who enjoyed using it to scroll through Instagram and watch YouTube, told Business Insider.
Apple Defence
Apple did try defending it by stating that VR headsets are a new category that’s nowhere near maturity. Several devices including the iPad and the Apple Watch met somewhat similar response when the first generations were launched. Some leaders in the tech world are still quite optimistic about Vision Pro’s future.
For instance, The Open AI CEO Sam Altman called it “the second most impressive tech since the iPhone.”
Well as of now we will have to wait and see just how much improvement or changes will be there considering the complaints & dissatisfaction of customer with Apple vision pro.
That’s all for now.
